1. Introduction

StampCam is a watermark camera app available for Android and iOS, operated by Hui Quan Zhong ("we", "our", or "the app"). It automatically adds time, location, weather, and device information to your photos and videos. Core features — camera preview, watermark rendering, media processing, and export — are performed primarily on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use StampCam.

3. Information We Access and Process

3.1 Camera

StampCam requests camera access so you can capture photos and videos inside the app.

3.2 Microphone

If you record video with audio, StampCam requests microphone access so audio can be recorded together with video.

3.3 Photos / Media Library

StampCam may request:

• read access, when you choose an image from your photo or media library for watermark-related customization;
• add-only or save access, when you export or save generated photos and videos back to your library or device storage.

3.4 Location, Weather, and Elevation

When you enable location watermarking, GPS follow mode, address-based elements, weather elements, or elevation elements, the app may access precise or approximate location data. This may be used to generate addresses, coordinates, weather details, or elevation values.

When weather or elevation data is requested, latitude and longitude values may be transmitted to third-party service providers. Network requests may also expose your IP address to those providers.

3.5 Device and App Information

The app may process device model, operating system version, app version, current time, language, and related technical information to generate watermark content, improve compatibility, and assist with troubleshooting.

3.6 Local App Settings and Cached Data

StampCam stores certain settings and cached app data locally on your device, such as:

• watermark styles, custom text, opacity, scale, element toggles, and position settings;
• language preference;
• recent or cached location-related display data and nearby address cache;
• workflow state and related configuration.

These settings are stored locally to make the app function correctly and preserve your preferences across launches.

3.7 Usage, Diagnostic, and Crash Information

StampCam uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect limited usage, diagnostic, and crash-related information, such as:

• app launches and basic app lifecycle events;
• feature usage and app interaction events, including permission results, capture mode changes, photo or video capture results, video duration, selected watermark style identifiers, language changes, image quality changes, and watermark setting changes;
• device model, operating system version, app version, language, and country or region derived from network information;
• crash reports, stack traces, error logs, app state at the time of a crash, crash thread information, installation identifiers, and native crash information such as NDK minidump data where applicable;
• selected non-fatal errors, such as photo capture failures, video recording failures, video processing failures, and settings update errors.

We do not use these services to collect the contents of your photos or videos, custom watermark text, precise location, address text, or coordinates. We do not intentionally include media file paths, email addresses, or street addresses in Firebase Analytics events.

4. How We Use Information

We use accessed information only for app functionality and improvement, including:

• capturing photos and videos;
• rendering watermarks onto media;
• saving generated media to your device;
• loading a user-selected image for watermark customization;
• showing optional location text, coordinates, and weather-related watermark data;
• remembering your settings and improving usability within the app session and future launches;
• analyzing aggregated app usage and feature performance;
• detecting, diagnosing, and fixing crashes, bugs, and stability issues.

5. Local Processing

The core capture and watermark workflows are designed to run locally on your device. In the current release:

• captured photos and videos are processed locally for watermark rendering;
• locally saved settings remain on your device unless you delete the app or clear device data;
• Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics may process limited usage, diagnostic, and crash-related information on servers operated by Google for analytics and crash reporting purposes.

6. Third-Party Services and Network Requests

StampCam may use third-party or platform services in limited cases.

6.1 Weather Feature

If you enable weather-related watermark functionality, the app may send location coordinates to a third-party weather service (for example, wttr.in on Android) in order to retrieve current weather information for display in the watermark. This means location-related data may be transmitted over the network when weather is enabled, and the weather response is used to display weather information inside the app or watermark output.

6.2 Elevation Feature

If you enable elevation-related watermark functionality, the app may send location coordinates to a third-party elevation service (for example, Open-Elevation) in order to retrieve elevation values.

6.3 Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics

StampCam uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google LLC. Firebase may process information such as app instance identifiers, Firebase installation identifiers, device and OS information, app version, language, general region information, app interaction events, crash stack traces, and diagnostic logs.

6.4 Platform Services

StampCam also depends on platform services for permissions, camera access, photo or media library saving, location access, and related operating system functionality — Apple system frameworks and platform services on iOS, and Android system services and app distribution platforms where applicable.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. In the current release, we do not operate a user account backend or advertising network inside the app. However:

• location data may be sent to a third-party weather or elevation service when you use the optional weather or elevation features;
• usage, diagnostic, and crash-related information may be processed by Google LLC through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics;
• Apple and other platform providers may process limited technical data under their own policies when you download, install, or run the app through their platforms.

8. Data Retention

Because StampCam primarily stores settings locally:

• app preferences remain on your device until you change them, remove the app, or clear the relevant device data;
• exported photos and videos saved to your photo or media library remain there until you delete them;
• temporary or cached app data may be replaced or removed by the app over time as part of normal operation;
• Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics data is retained by Google according to Firebase and Google retention practices and is used for analytics, diagnostics, and crash reporting.

Local data remains on your device until deleted through the app, system settings, file management tools, or app uninstallation. Third-party providers retain information according to their own policies.

9. Children's Privacy

StampCam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account system or dedicated child-facing service. If you believe a child has provided personal information in connection with the app, please contact us.

10. Your Choices

• You may deny or revoke camera, microphone, photo or media library, and location permissions through your device system settings. Related features may stop working correctly.
• You may disable location or weather watermark features.
• You may delete locally stored media, cached files, preferences, or uninstall the app.
• You may manage advertising identifiers and related privacy controls through your device settings.
• Removing the app will stop future local storage and future analytics or crash reporting from the app on that device.

The current version does not provide an in-app switch to disable Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics collection.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to design the app so that core media processing occurs locally where possible. However, no software, device, storage system, or network transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You remain responsible for device access control, backups, and sharing choices.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above, and provide additional notice where appropriate.
